Upfrontr is a revolutionary social enterprise that transforms food waste into sustainable nutrition and economic opportunity. We rescue surplus, near-expiry, and rejected agricultural produce and convert it into high-value products like food powders, fruit leathers, agricultural supplements, and specialized flours. Our innovative Food Loan Program provides food to communities in need and accepts food waste as loan repayment, creating a circular food economy that simultaneously addresses hunger, reduces food waste, and generates income for smallholder farmers. By leveraging technology, community engagement, and a mission-driven approach, we turn what would be discarded food into nutritious, life-changing products that empower communities, support sustainable development, and create pathways out of food insecurity. Operating primarily in Kenya, we’re solving two interconnected global challenges: hunger and food waste, while generating economic opportunities for marginalized agricultural communities.
